Ashley Young want's to go to Man U

Quote
Ashley Young will look to force through a dream move to Manchester United in the summer.

The England forward will resist any attempt by Aston Villa to revive contract talks in a bid to clear the path to Old Trafford.

Young is a long-term target for Sir Alex Ferguson, who views the 25-year-old as a successor to Ryan Giggs and Sportsmail understands Young has already told a number of Villa team-mates that he wants to move to United.

He could cost as little as £10million in the summer after being valued at £25m at the start of the season.

His current deal expires at the end of the next campaign and discussions over fresh terms have hit the buffers. With Villa faced with losing Young for nothing next year, they could have little option but to sell in the summer.

The forward has held a first round of talks with Villa over a four-year deal worth in the region of £70,000 per week, but has since decided he has no intention of signing.

It was always going to happen.

I'm pretty sure a lot of players WANT to move to UTD but it does not mean it will happen

I just meant the fact that Ash would start making noises about moving in the summer not necessarily Man U.  However, as there are no quote, the media will do the work for him.

"Force through", "dream move"   This is always the way the media portrays Villa players leaving the club.  I find it a pretty insulting picture that they paint of Aston Villa.

Ashley certainly won't have to force through a move.  If he wants to go I don't think anyone  will be fighting and campaigning for him to stay.  He's a modern footballer and can do as he wishes.  As long as Villa replace with better - and I think we can - then we will come out well from this.

He is a typical ManUre signing , just wish he'd done us the favour if signing s long term contract as reward to the club that gave him his main chance in football.

Man Yanighted only wanted him 'cos it's value though. If he was on a long term deal and available for no less than £20m he'd be here, 'cos noone would pay it.

ManUre would play Valencia RW and Ash LW, feeding Berbatov with Rooney in the hole

And Nani who has probably been the best winger in the league this season?

I remember suggesting Nani a summer or two ago, when he was a squad player at Utd, and getting told he was a show pony and would be useless.

If there were better could it be assumed that ManUre would be looking at buying him ?

thats not strictly true, else ManUre would have bought him cheaper from Watford and benefitted from the results, likewise they could have got Milner who would look better in midfield than some of the lumps they have

It's hardly insulting, it's the harsh reality. We're not a big a club as Man Utd and never will be. We've gone backwards this last year or so. It's our own fault our better players want to leave.

What percentage do Watford have on Young's sell-on clause?

Mexes was mentioned a few pages back. It appears according to Talksport (cough!) that a contract has yet to be signed. With houllier's reputation we may stand a better chance of signing him than we normally would with a player of his stature. J would love to see us go fir him.

From BBC gossip column:
Arsenal and Chelsea target Philippe Mexes has still not ruled out a summer move to the Premier League. The French defender's contract with Italian side Roma expires in June.
