Maybe we should give Pires a year's extension as a player coach, so he doesn't get so arsey when he isn't playing.

Walker is saying positive things about us being "ideal" for him, hopefully he puts in a transfer request if Harry messes him about.

Although he's been pretty shit overall, he's not moaned about playing time has he?

It reminds me of the Patrik Berger saga all over again.

I'd prefer Adam Johnson over N'Zogbia.

This.

Queue Pires advising Young to join Arsenal/ManUre in the press in May.

Definitely. In a strange way we might stand a chance of getting him too, as I suspect he "might not sell enough shirts in china".

He seems to score reasonably regularly too so would be ideal in a 433.

All Manicini has done is moan about how much they are missing him, we have got no chance!

And before then the daft, shockingly defensive arse never played him.

Doesn't change the fact we have no chance of getting him.

Patrik Berger turned in a few good performances at the tail end of that campaign - when we needed it most.

If Pires does similar -rather than just one game- I wouldn't be against it.

Berger was also on a fair wedge as he was due to be out of contract at Pompey and we snared him that way.  Pires didn't have a club when we signed him and hadn't played for months, it was either us or Crawley Town. Don't think he'll be on a huge whack.

On a side note, with the players he has, Mancini has done a shit job at City, regardless of the result tomorrow. This season the league was/ is there for the taking, Chelsea suffered through Drogba being out with Maleria and not being the same since (they say it takes months to regain your full energy levels after a bout of it), Man United have been woeful away from home points wise, drawing a hell of a lot of games and Arsenal are forever inconsistent. City have the squad, but the manager is afraid to go out after 6pm in case he is eaten by the monster in the dark.
And before then the daft, shockingly defensive arse never played him.

As much chance of us signing Ronaldo.  Zero.

Oh dear Mat, that was very poor indeed.
I agree with premise though. I don't give toss number one about Downing's tackling ability.

Downing will be getting my player of the season vote at the moment- he has been vastly improved this season and I'm delighted with him.
