If WBA go down, i'd take Scharner off their hands - good utility player
Also would like to see NZogbia in this summer

Scharner is a moaner, he doesnt like to play CB, not the type of attitude we need in my opinion.

I would really like N'Zogbia, I love his directness.

As for Given he's fucked up the same shoulder that kept him out for months before. There's clearly a problem there and that's bad news for a keeper and fir that reason we shouldn't consider him.

His latest operation is on the other shoulder according to the wireless. I'm not sure if the fact that he now has a pair of fucked shoulders is better than having one thats really fucked.

The German fella someone mentioned has now signed a new contract at Dortmund and appeared to be using our interest as leverage in his negotiations.

I think N'Zogbia is a moaner, he's had problems at every club. Fair enough he's a good player, but im not sure we need him. Not sure on Scharner though.

Peterwithe, on given according to mancini it's the same shoulder that's gone as last year, Curtis davies had similar problems but I'd expect it to be a bit more worrying with a keeper, although Mancini seems confident it won't be a long term worry.

Fair point, I forgot about his attitude.

Well best senario is Ash signs a new deal then we are sorted.

I've banged this drum many times before, but I'd love us to spend big on a new keeper and get Samir Handanovič from Udinese. Tall, agile, commands his box and is a great shot stopper. He'll be 27 in the summer, has all his best years to come. Wouldn't grumble paying up to £10-12m for him!

I know he's playing in the Championship, but Sinclair at Swansea looks some player. I think he could be worth a punt if Ash goes,he could make the leap up a division like Ash did and Jarvis has at Wolves.

Sinclair would be worth getting just to eye up his girlfriend who plays rosie Webster in corrie - would put us in the wags news- as a player not bad but nothing special.

Anyone fancy Max Gradel at Leeds, young, quick, an eye for goal, could poss link up well with Delph.

Agree.

Earlier this week he spoke of Wigan being a 'Stepping-stone' for a bigger club. So you can bet he will be after a move to another club after five minutes good form for us. We don't need that kind of player... I also cannot think he is a bit overrated. There is a reason he is at Wigan having underperformed at a bigger club in Newcastle.

From MEN

Given, 34, is expected to be out for the rest of the season. With Gunnar Nielsen also ruled out after suffering ruprured knee ligaments in the reserves game on Wednesday, the Blues have recalled David Gonzalez from his loan at Leeds. Stuart Taylor is the reserve to Joe Hart.

Given is keen to stress that the injury is not an aggravation of the one he suffered at Arsenal last season, which was to his other shoulder.

Blues boss Roberto Mancini appeared to suggest on Wednesday that Given had dislocated his left shoulder again – as he did at The Emirates – but the club have moved to clear up any confusion.

A City spokesman said: “Shay has had his operation, and the surgeon said he felt things went very well.
“It is important to stress that he injured a different shoulder last season, and that he doesn’t have a history of injury prior to last season.

For what its worth, I think Jussi Jääskeläinen (currently playing for Bolton Wanderers) would be an excellent choice as the new goal keeper at Villa Park. I think hes about 35/36 years of age and has had many years of experiance in the Premier League. Worth a shout and in my opinion certainly better than a lot of the keepers mentioned in this thread.

Well reports today we turned down 19million from Man U for Ashley and they will come back in for him in the summer.

If true he is definitely off, so we need to replace our best player this time after 2 years of not replacing them. ( Barry and Milner)
