It's a scandal that any private company can move into a building funded by public money without paying for it.

It's not exactly free. They're converting it using £20m from the sale of Upton Park, borrowing £40m from the council, the other £35m is from the Olympic budget and was available to any bidder.

Something had to be done with the stadium and this way it. in theory, becomes an asset to the local community.

"In theory" being the operative phrase - I don't buy any of this Olympic Legacy stuff at all. In fact whenever anyone mentions 'legacy' or 'heritage' in relation to the olympics its probably safe to assume they're bullshitting in some way.

The real issue here isn't the decision now - 5 years ago they approved plans to build a stadium which they would then reduce afterwards. Now they've massively overspent, the brakes are on and the original plan has been shown up - unfortunately the only people making money in sport are the Premier League so they have no choice but get them on board.

As for the Leyton Orient question someone asked - they are the closest club to the site at around 2 miles.

Lets face it, the porn barons have been desperate for someone else to subsidise a new stadium for them and now it looks like they will finally get their wish. I can't see it being full and the hammers fans will soon be moaning about being too far away from the pitch and will wish they had stayed at their current residence.

I don't think it's possible to be too far away from West Ham

I live in East Dulwich and as far as I'm concerned that's still miles too close to the pitch

I give them 20years max and then they will be looking to have a new football only stadium with a much smaller capacity. Re Juventus.

Yep, and for a team of Juventus's size, the gates have been woeful for years. Think what West Ham will end up with.

So what would you do with it?

Something has to happen to it. We can debate all day about whether it should have been built. The fact is it has and this seems to me to be the least bad option.

They should at least offer it to The Orient for nothing! £5 adult and £2 kids tickets for the next ten years - be nice to see a club and fan base like Orient's benefit rather than the spammers and that cross eyed bint!

I'm with Alan Sugar on this

Can't watch videos at work - what's he said?  And does it put him at cross purposes with Brady?
