Have you read about their goalkeeping issues?  Only Kingston is half fit, so Beattie is down as reserve goalie...  We should be smelling blood here
Beattie would fill most of the goal though.

Blackpool v Aston Villa

Everybody in the Premier League knows how Blackpool play now and anyone who watches them home and away gets value for money because they have a real go at teams.

They will create chances and score goals against anyone but I think the problem for Seasiders boss Ian Holloway is that the opposition are getting even more openings against his side now.

Villa can leave Darren Bent on his own up front and keep things tight, then break forward so quickly with the pace they have in the likes of Marc Albrighton, Stewart Downing and Ashley Young.

Bent and Young both scored for England in midweek against Denmark too. Just playing for your national team and doing well is enough to make your confidence soar and if you score it is even better. Bent seems to be in a bit of a purple patch - you can see him getting two or three chances at Bloomfield Road.

Prediction: 1-2

From the Beeb

Blackpool striker James Beattie could end up playing in goal if the Seasiders fail to gain special dispensation to sign a new keeper. With Matt Gilks already out, the Tangerines are down to one shot-stopper after Paul Rachubka damaged his knee in training - leaving only the half-fit Richard Kingson available for Saturday's visit of Aston Villa. And Beattie has put his name down to fill in for Kingson, who has already needed substituting once this season because of injury.

I really hope that our players are reminded of Holloway's comments that we are 'a two bob club who used to be famous with a manager who is on a sticky wicket' before this game.
Our fantastic away support won't need reminding and I hope we give the pug-faced gollum lookalike a right tonking to send them spinning back where he, and they, belong.

Sorry to be picky but he called us a "half arsed club".

And you're right, he'll get loads tomorrow and deservedly so.

The chances are they'll get permisson for a replacement keeper i would have thought, which is a shame. I think a few 20 yarders and some decent crosses into the box are in order.

With their defence being a bit ropey at the moment, i'd be tempted to play Fonz alongside Bent, with Ashley out wide. Just a thought.

I don't get all this talk about the goalkeeping "issue".

1.  They will most likely get dispensation should they need it.

2.  Richard Kingson is a good keeper.

3.  We really should not need them to have no keeper to beat them.

4.  Who the hell is OUR back up keeper?  Andy Marshall?  Blackpool could be thinking the same.  Friedel is a soft touch and our reserve is almost unknown at this level.

3 all, ridiculously open game where we create chances aplenty but can't defend. 2 up, 3-2 down then a late equaliser.

We have got to beat them, we simply have to.

Who said Richard Kingston is a good goalkeeper?!?!?!?! WTF!! Hahaha. He's an absolute joke. My wife is from Ghana, I've 'endured' most Ghana games (Cup of Nations/ WC) at the in-laws, the man is laughed at even in Ghana. They realise though that he's about one of four people who play in goal in Ghana.
Shoot from long range the bloke will spill it every time, whip the ball in and watch him fly past it in comical style.

Houllier only has to put up Holloways comments on the changing room wall to motivate the team. Want to see that little twat eat his own words and show him what we are all about ....

And Friedel doesn't make mistakes?  He is still classed as a good keeper but Brad fucks up so often it's not funny.

Optimistic for this one.

2-1 to us.

Pessimistic as to how much of the game I will actually see.  I think we're in row ZZZZZZZZZZZZ or something.  Oh well, a nice tram ride, a stroll along the prom and a few beers in an out of the way alehouse should make up for that.
