He's not a racist, some of his best friends are black.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Exactly, according to some Sky would be nothing, NOTHING YOU HEAR ME, without the dynamic duo spouting their wisdom every week.

The Rooney goal would have been even better with the lovable duo salivatating over it.

A spokesman for Sky said: “He is no longer an employee.”

Indirectly he is?

Talksport are owned by UTV who don't have anything at all to do with Sky.

I like Alan Smith co commentating.  There was only a mere wobble in his voice to describe the Rooney goal.  I fear Gray might have drowned in his own Gizz had he still been at the helm.

From what I heard they didn't take any calls from the public at all, just an endless procession of "personality" interviews full of platitudes and cliche's.

Fans will be pleased to know that it was like a three hour version of the Last Word dull-a-thon. Without the bells, whistles and lovely colours though, but reasuringly as humourless and dry as it's TV equivalent.

A friend of mine at TalkSport says that they only employed them because Mike Parry quit. And Mike Parry only quit because he understood - mistakenly - that they had already been hired to replace him.

They were excellent - well played lads.

PS. A mate of mine met Cyril Regis a few weeks ago - he's still mates with Big Ron.

Not many on here will like that.

Because many don't forgive and forget - I don't know why not.

It's not just on here mind - it's human nature regrettably.

Perhaps the main difference between the two examples is that BFR is a bit more likable that Keysey and Graysey. For the former, it seemed more like a slip of the tongue (even though there had been one or two shockers prior to that). For the latter, it just seemed to be confirmation of what we already knew, ie they were/are a pair of hateful individuals.

All three deserved to lose their jobs. I don't think BFR has worked on TV since and hasn't been considered for a major role in the top two divisions. I can believe that he isn't racist on the basis that both Regis and Batson still have a lot of time for him, but it was an incredibly stupid and offensive thing to say. His pissweak argument -like Gray and Keys- that he didn't know the camera was still rolling didn't make it OK back then either.
