There is a clear road to salvation with Houllier though, as is shown by Dunne, which shows it is not simply fall out and bomb out, if a player is willing to walk that path. MON would never forgive, maybe GH can. At the same time, it is clear that if you don't operate with a certain level of respect, GH will simply get shut of you. 6 weeks back there was Dunne, Ireland, Carew, Warnock and Beye who were at loggerheads with him. Since then he has bought well, signed a player none of the squad thought possible, drawn high praise from arguably our best player in Young, won 4 games, and got rid of Carew and Ireland, re integrated Dunne. The other 2 must look at it now and realise they have a long road ahead if they don't change their ways in the way GH wants. So glad the club stuck with him too, he has the right ideas for the club I am sure of it. Still thinks he needs more a general than Gary Mac backing him up though.

Beye has not been part of Houllier's plans for nearly three months.

Three months! Does the man have no pride? Surely his agent could have found him a club if Beye could be arsed to move, obviously just happy to pick up his £40k a week. Disgraceful.

I have to say, and I was already in support of GH, but I'm in full support of how he is turning us around. There's much work to do, but we need to call out these lazy pricks and get rid. They are a cancer on the club, and I don't want them near our dedicated pros, new players or impressionable kids. I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to the summer, because we will have some very good players coming in, and I expect every one of the malcontents to be out on their hole.

You can understand why MON played centre backs as full backs when he signed the full backs he did.

GH had a much tougher job at Liverpool than the Spice boys; he had the boot room and 30 years of the Shankly era to contend with.

One final point about Heskey; don't forget we didn't pay a great deal for him and despite missing a few sitters, I think he has been one of our best players this season.

"Cancer on the club" is a bit strong, surely?

They're players struggling with bad attitudes. Richard Dunne was one of those until recently.

I'd rather we at least left the door open to getting something from them, rather than sticking them in the stocks and pelting them with rotten fruit. If we're going to pay them 40k or whatever a week, let's at least try to get some use from them

hate the use of the word cancer to describe anything other than the disease that has caused so much pain for so many, disgraceful

I understand the passion of the sentiments, but you're sailing pretty close to the wind once again.

As for Beye, I can fully understand his position.

Coming to the end of a decent career, some crazy man waves a massive contract in front of him which requires him to do very little work for a huge amount of money.

It's not like he needs the money, he doesn't need to earn win bonuses or impress anyone for his next move. The last bloke didn't bother picking him even after he'd played quite well. I'd probably do exactly the same in his situation.

Warnock should shape up or ship out.

It just a term Paulie that's often used to reflect on problems that need to cut out. No more than that. Clearly the club have identified certain players that aren't good for what is being built and have decided to remove them.

And as for hawkeye's over the top reaction and insults. Any old excuse right?

I don't see anything wrong with what Houllier's said, He's probably been asked what's going on with these players and he's said their attitude stinks, Lets hope someone comes in for the pair of them.

Your always going to get these situations when someone new comes into a club. I was furious when we signed Beye anyway another useless signing but I must admit I liked Warnock and he was playing well up until he got the injury.
