This Ashley Young playing behind the striker just isn't working.  In fact, it hasn't worked all season.  Why can't Houllier just play 4-4-2 with Bent and Agbonlahor up front?

Bannan for Stan asap

I agree Barry has had good performance after good performance. He's like a spark plug in the middle, hustling and fighting for every ball.  Pair him with Makoun and we've got a solid creative middle.

NRC can go now, and keep Stan on as a backup..

Cueller in the middle with Collins is a better pairing. Dunne is looking more and more over the hill..

Man U always look dangerous when coming forward. Young in the middle doesn't work. Do we persist with it to try and keep him happy in the hope he will stay come the end of the season?

Makoun does look good but I hope there is a little more to his game.  So far he has been finding space, getting the ball and passing it 10 yards after 1 or 2 touches.  Can he hold the ball, drive forward and play a defence splitting pass?

Exactly what Sir Graham is saying on R5...

I am sure there is more to his game, maybe that is his instructions... make space get the ball, give it to Ash / Marc and Downing to create.

Dunne, AKA Lunk, hoofs it away again under no real pressure.

We need to start taking them on a little, they stand in front of us so we pass the ball backwards.

Is Petrov actually on the pitch? Genuinely not heard him mentioned

Makoun looks really assured in possession, we need to get someone next to him.

I really like the energy Makoun brings to our passing game. He is constantly making himself playable

e: pretty much same can be said for Walker. Definitely an upgrade over Cuellar and Young going forward

I like Walker. Okay, defensively suspect, but the lad can bomb it down the right. He's defended reasonably well today too
