Maybe ask the General and he will at least give you a reason why. Perhaps it is FA regulations... can't see any problem myself so long as the banners aren't offensive and are folded up before kick-off.
I think cd is right, have a talk to the general if you can before you start fuming publicly.

I think Fletch was joking. "Ring Nicola Key" became a catch-all answer to all life's problems on this site for a while.
