everything else will come in good time. We now have someone up front that given a glimpse will make the difference. On another day, it's 0-0 late on and our defence's stirling work would go to waste with sloppy winning goal. I think Albrighton is going to develop a deadly partnerhip with Bent from those low driven crosses also.

Every player worked their bollocks off today. Just a shame only 37,000 came to see the debut of our record signing score the winning goal.

How good was Collins today!!!

Class. Even Dunne looked a bit sharper! Glad it's all over though.

What a complete waste of £24m.

I mean, surely Milner could have made some tea or something.

Brilliant result! Epic defensive performance and, earlier on, some good attacking stuff too.

For me, Downing was man of the match, an absolutely brilliant performance in my book. Really well done!

I don't know if that selection or formation will work each week, but it did look a lot better than I thought it would.

Thought 37 000 was a decent crowd considering our league position. What a battling performance.Bent was impressive throughout, hard working, sharp and dangerous, he will get us a lot of goals.Thats 3 points he has gained us already and the confidence has taken a boost.Thought Cuellar on Tevez was magnificent.Albrighton and Downing did well.Ash still loses possession too easily....sell him for 20M now while he still has a reputation

As chuffed as I am that we have a new Holte End hero, I'm even happier that we've finally, at last, remembered how to defend.  Our first clean cheet since halloween!  No excuses for the rest of the season, now lets crack on starting at Wigan and get back in the top half.

Fair fucks to the lot of them, they all worked their bollocks off tonight and got what they deserved.

The team selection was superb, so many at the start of the match thread thought we would be battered when the team was announced.
A massive thee points.
Well done Villa

By accounts the crowd would have been a lot lower before Bent signed.
