Pathetic Sunderland fans- what I don't get is that bent said the first he knew of any interest was when Sunderland told him they had accepted a bid and then said it's from Aston villa , yet Sunderland say bent submitted a transfer request sun night- somebody is telling porkies !

What a bunch of knuckle-dragging scum! Comments like this would have previously been exchanged by a few Neanderthal headcases in some greasy pub. Now any git with opposable thumbs can twitter away with the best of them. I hope the Police follow it up.

It's the flip-side of all the communication opportunities available now. Even on this august site, the fact that people can comment on everything immediately can lead to troublesome knees jerking, and Twitter's even more of a free-for-all.

Poor Darren Bent's remark that he prefers to "go about things quietly" and doesn't enjoy his picture being "here, there and everywhere" show he's a bit more mature than some of his peers. Hopefully this will help him to rise above it.

In the end my ex gave me an £18 million pay off, rising to £24 million based on taking the kids to school a certain number of times.

I couldn't argue at that deal.
