I quite fancy us in this. I predict a cagey game and a bent 80+ minute goal for a 2-1 win.

Here's hoping for one of those memorable home debuts, in keeping with the Saunders one in 1992 or Dion's in 1998. Petrov and Carbone also made greats starts, and then never quite lived up to that highpoint again (Petrov's was away though, obv).

We need to improve defensively. I might start to share the certainty that some have re avoiding relegation when we string a few clean sheets together. Not sure that will be tomorrow though, Tevez,  Dzeko and the rest look like they have enough in the locker to at least score 1.

3-1 Villa  (Bent 2)

If we get a draw I'll be pleased, especially since they declared a few weeks back when they could have made the Newcastle score look like a close-run thing.

1-1, one of our old boys for them, a late equalizer from Delfouneso, brought on after Bent suffers a career-threatening cruciate injury.

You sick barsteward.

It will be a hamstring, and he'll limp off after about half an hour.

I like the 4-3-3 idea
------------------------Freidel-----------------------

-Walker-----------Cuellar----------Dunne----Clark--
--------------------------NRC-----------------------
--------------Delph---------------Petrov------------
-Young--------------------------------------Downing-
--------------------------Bent------------------------

Subs
Marshall
Collins
L Young
Bannan
Albrighton
Agbonlahor
Heskey

And when Makoun is ready, replace NRC.

If we're going to have a regualr line up of one striker up front, which would be Bent, Gabby will leave.
I don't like the idea of that.

I really think that if we can get Adam in and Makoun show's his worth, we can get away with 4-4-2 including 2 wingers.

It hasn't worked with us in the past as the middle two haven't been good enough.

Bent won't score on his debut, and we'll lose the match. But we will improve with a win at Wigan.

They are not that strong defensively, hope we don't go negative.

3-3 !  Bent and Dzeko hat tricks !

Would have been nice to have signed Dzeko

but Bent is a premiership marksmen.

Line up.

Got to be better than the last home game vs S'land, surely ?

Don't recall Bent doing much on the night either, did he even have a shot ??

Wonder if he knew then he was on his way here

1-3 to them.

I can see Dunne and Collins having a nightmare against Toure and Tevez tbh. It's highly likely Collins will get booked and try his hardest for 80 minutes not to get sent off.

Our regular delivery guy who is a citeh s.t holder reckons they'll put 5 past us, So we shook on a tenner? Surely not!!!

When Big Heskey returns i think we'll start picking up points, Best player this season by far! What about Heskey & Bent upfront for Wigan?
