Noticing some subtle username changes amongst some of the seasoned posters. Could I get away with 'bent glasses' do you think? I have sat on mine recently, so the statement would be accurate, aswell as showing support for our record signing.

Oliver Holt is a scrote licking cockholster. I'd love to uppercut his fat head into orbit.
And I'd have his wooden old ma watch it as well.

He scores with his left,
he scores with his right.
Darren Bent said,

Breaking News: Gary Glitter has announced his interest in being the next AVFC manager after he found out the strikers are Young and Bent!

In other news, I'm ecstatic with the signing, well worth 18/24 million!

More bleeding hearts from Bruce.

Steve Bruce as you may recall is the man who has walked out of Sheffield Utd, Crystal Palace, Blues and Wigan (twice in their case).

Great signings!

A left back and we're almost there.

Does this mean that Pires is no longer flavour of the month? :)

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but I hope someone has got a few Liverpool beach balls for the last game of the season...

I wonder whether Randy saw in the purchase of Bent the possibility to get one over on Ellis Short as well. Paulie mentioned a post, possibly originally made by IanB, here, saying how he was supposed to be concerned about his arrival at Sunderland.

Obviously, I'm not saying that would be the only reason, but I just wonder whether somewhere in there it entered his mind that it would also be a chance to show him that his club was more important. That he could take Sunderland's leading scorer and there was nothing he could do about it. The thought makes me wonder how the American owners in the Premier League relate to one another? Whether there is a degree of competitiveness between them to which we aren't privy. After all there are four of them now.

One thing that dawned on me this morning was that maybe there was a hidden dig within Houlier's comment about him being fully behind Randy's strategy of keeping the wage structure in place. Almost saying that the money has always been here if you are willing to work wiht the Chairman.

I hope MON was swearing at the TV last night!

Yes, I was going to post myself and point that out: Bruce is the epitome of the manager who jumps ship at the whiff of a better offer. It's a bit rich laying into one of his players for seizing the chance of a move. Bottom line is, Bent obviously wasn't happy at Sunderland. I don't believe it was about money: if it was, interest from another club would have been the perfect opportunity for his agent to negotiate a pay rise. If he was happy to stay at the club, of course.
