For all of the speculation about the squad being really unhappy and disliking Houllier, it hasn't stopped Bent jumping at the chance to sign for us. Surely he would have had a word about things with some of the players at the club who he knows before declaring his desire to play for us. This, and the other new signings should also give the other players a bit of a boost also.

If Ireland could sort his attitude out that would be like another new signing too, and in my view he would be an excellent source of supply for Bent.
