Reports suggest Steve Bruce is already busy making plans on what he's going to do with the £18m fee for Darren Bent.

He's going to pay off his tab at Greggs.

They don't have Greggs in Sunderland... it's still called Braggs!

A van load of cup cakes, iced fancies and buns is sent up from Birmingham daily.

I don't know what Sunderland is like, but when I went back to Newcastle for the first time in a few years recently, I was amazed at quite how many branches of Greggs there were.

I believe Greggs Sausage rolls are known up there as 'Geordie Dummies'.

I bought a pack of 4 yesterday, retailing at £2.25

We stopped in a B&B just off Hadrian's Wall for a couple of nights last August - we tried sleeping in the tent, but it was far too cold for the missus - and the owners, who were from Sunderland, told us (assume accent): 'Sunderland? Sunderland? Why, it's so bad they're digging tunnels to get out!'

Sunderland is exactly the same. In fact, if anything, worse. Walk from station through shopping centre, I believe you walk past 4 Greggs. I may be wrong, it could be 3, could be 5, but when you see the size of the place, it is bizarre.

Haven't posted in a while, and when I do, it's on a thread about a £24m signing, about sausage rolls. Great.

There aren't many places to get food at Newcastle Airport but of course there is a Greggs.

There may or may not be any Greggs in Sunderland. There certainly isnt a Darren Bent up there anymore.  ;D

It is. Greggs are announcing a trial run of a sausage roll/cornish pasty combination.

Is that to be included in the Bent "add-ons".

Sky just can't put us down enough can they, they're now describing the deal as "the 2nd biggest deal of the window"

With plenty of emphasis on the 2nd bit

My second song suggestion.  Its very topical:

Darren Bent is a cornish pasty!

Oh yes, I can feel the improvement.
