The only thing that worries me is the potential for irony in Saturday's game. If De Jong doesn't get him, I have a sickening feeling it'll be an innocuous challenge from Milner or Barry that snaps his leg like a twig.

I would be guessing it will be billed as Bent v Dzeko type affair (assuming he starts the Zigic-a-like against us)

Oh stop it. If the average villa fan directed a porn film the money shot would be interrupted by a cutaway of Dean Gaffney

Excited as I am by the potential signing of Bent I can't help but think back to other strikers who were record signings. On one hand Tony Cascarino and Stan Collymore and, with the glass being half full, Peter Withe.
Though not a striker, I'm still trying to get over the signing of Tommy Craig.

Meaning Evil saying Bent deal will be done tomorrow, we're not selling Young or Downing. We're interested in a left-back too but not Figueroa.

I can't claim to know anything about him apart from his name, but Aly Cissokho looks a player from what I've read.

If we got him and Adam I'd be ecstatic.

Not convinced about Figueroa so pleased our main target is elsewhere.

As soon as he bangs in a couple of goals, the whole price tag thing goes away. I liked JPA very much, but he never quite put his transfer fee out of mind.

I keep having the thought that the Villa way is for him to either go 3 months without a goal or to do a Luc Nilis. I'm just being silly though, aren't I? That can't happen.
One goal in his last eight games.

He's already had his dry spell for the season.

*nervous laugh*

Mind you, he even failed to score against us.

*serious face*

Well, if Collins hadn't have pulled out that tremendous goal-line clearance, and if Gyan hadn't have been the biggest greedbag in the history of time, DB would have had a brace.

Some of these comments have got me nervous now. What's the story with insurance on expensive players?

Yes, that twat Milner has already crock Delph again. Getting a bit worried that Delph is nowhere to be seen - I thought it was only a 'knock' to his knee that would be okay in a couple of weeks?

yeah, ive heard he'll be back in training next week. Dont be surprised though at Houllier putting hi in some reserve matches first. The only reason he was playing first team so quickly was because of the bad weather all the reserve matches were being called off
