There's a whole thread on why Downing is shit. Being a big girl when it comes to tackles is one of the reasons. Not being involved enough is another.

And as has been pointed out Bent does not create goals so getting rid of someone like Downing to bring him in would be stupid.

I said earlier when I logged in at lunch - Les Ferdinand. Villa don't do signing top players in their prime for huge fees. Just fear we will see this go the same way. God I would love him in a Villa shirt, knocking in a couple against City on Sat evening!

Jesus! I hope this one goes through. We must follow it up with the Charlie Adam signing . Bent thrives on balls played down the sides of the centre-backs, Adam is one of the best in the Premier league at threading through balls between defenders. With the width we have to supply from the wings, having someone who can get it down and provide defence splitting passes is a must for Bent.

this isn't Doug's Villa. Doug often had an agenda. Randy backed MON, and is backing GH. I have no doubts about this one.
