If they'd rejected it, they'd have said.

Is everyone else finding it nigh on impossible to get any work done today?

Done nothing. This is very frustrating

How many of us would have wanted Bent last summer?

I'd like to say this was a statement of financial intent, but with the milner money not yet spent and time for us to sell an asset or two I guess the jury's out until 31.1.11.

Me for one, I've always wanted him, I thought we should have gone in when Spuds got rid

Me too.  I think we'd maybe have sneaked a top 4 place if we'd bought him.

You'd have to build an attack around him, thus a team, as he can't make chances for himself.  Abd he'd fit into the team seeing how he takes his pens. He'll do for us now as his goals will stave off any relegation threat - you'd think, but as for being good enough for what we were trying to achieve once? Nowhere near good enough.

Yes, read somewhere that his form has dipped since Andy reid was out of their team - the player who set up most of his goals. If we get rid of Downing or Young this move will make no sense, we really need playmakers to supply him.

And agreed, when we were trying to push on into CL, he wasn't the player for us to take the step up. He is however a player to push us towards UEFA Cup qualification.

Darren Bent
299 games 172 goals
£18m+ is good business, considering the prices some strikers move for, Adebayor (Man Citeh money and all that taken into account)...

Man City fees are not to be considerd in any real wold deal.
By the way welcome juanpablojesusallahmoses however on a technical hierarchy note may be you should not mix allah with jesus and moses! jesusmohammedmoses is better!

If We sign Bent...

...and they wanted a player or two, plus money, what would you offer?

I'd go cash only.

If they'd take Beye and/or Warnock that would be ideal, but can't think of anyone else to ship out.

Maybe Reo-Coker (2m - contract almost up) Warnock (6m) and 10m.

Unless you're a christian then you can mix jesus and allah. Not Moses though, you're right.

They'd be welcome to any of the following:

Beye, NRC, Warnock, Ireland, Petrov, Heskey.

I'd rather it was just £18m cash though.

Or £20m and Pires.

Sky man at bodymoor says bent in nearby hotel, also says that villa made clear downing is going nowhere.

Straight cash offer, no other players involved.

NO to Heskey until the Summer

They can have Carew, Beye, Warnock or Ireland.

Bruce is not a complete fuckwit though, he won't want any of them.
