I bumped into a bloke wearing a pair of Villa shorts in Greenwich on Saturday morning while I was walking my dog (who was wearing his Villa collar and lead). We stopped and had a brief chat. He lives in the Isle of Dogs ( the Villa fan, not my hound), hardly the other side of the world but always nice to meet another Villan miles away from Villa Park. Wasn't anyone on here was it?

I was at Norton Canes services on the M6 toll yesterday, and I parked up next to a car that had both an IOM number plate, and a Villa sticker in the back window.  I had to check that it wasn't me, but then I remembered I don't drive a VW Golf.

He's Ipswich mate. I went in the Nelson about 12 months ago with the kids and the dog. Gentrified now - the old Millwall fire station next door is a Turkish restaurant.

Last weekend the Latin Lions gathered at a vineyard in the village of Cison di Valmarino in the province of Treviso. Stefano, the chairman (and Archie on H&V), is top left. In the centre at the back is Rob Bishop, co-author of "The Complete Record" and until last year the editor of the matchday programme.

Who's the fella kneeling in the white shirt? I'd swear he used to sit in front of me in the UT.

From snippets of conversations, I'd always got the impression he had something to do with the Lions somewhere.
Cheers, frank.

During the World Cup, we ended up watching the second half of the Sweden game in a pub in Liverpool. Near the end I noticed a guy sat in a pair of Villa shorts, so nipped over just to say it was good to see another Villa fan so far from home.

He seemed really pissed off I'd even spoken to him, and barely even mustered a reply!

Maybe they weren't his shorts.

That's right. They're based, as you might guess, in Stratford-upon-Avon

Thank you for posting that photo, Frank. Great to see the Latin Lions looking well.

Fond memories of watching the Carling Cup final in 2010 with them at Archie's house in Padua. Despite the result!

I was hoping that they were organizing some slightly more innovative chants.
Alas poor Yanick that was a shit cross.
We few we happy few we merry band of Villa.
Once more into the Holte dear friends once more.
The yam yams doth protest too much.
