so we're out of order for putting a low offer in on adam, yet he's now admitted he did the same with DJ Campbell???"We offered a £100k for him, ended up paying £1m"SO what's the difference? Houllier was using his press conference to have a dig at holloway for not going through the proper channels to tell the club adam isn't for sale or what ever. Holloway wanted to use the press and show Houllier up. Now when our manager plays the same game, Holloway wants to throw his dummy out.Get a grip! I'm already bored of it. To a point where when he comes on the tv from now on, i'm switching the channel
Holloway also hit back at Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier, who was unhappy with criticism from the Blackpool boss for the Midlands club's pursuit of Adam."I don't talk about other teams' players," said Holloway. "Mr Houllier didn't do that. He said they had made an offer and we hadn't got back to him and Charlie is really good. What is that to do with him? How unsettling is that?"
If Holloway were on fire, I would go and buy a bag of marshmallows
James Milner said a while back that he asked for a payrise when Newcastle priced him out of a move to Villa back in 2007.I don't have much truck with those trying to defend the rights of overpaid footballers, but he had a point. If Adam is worth £10/12/16 million, or whatever magic number Holloway can think of tomorrow, pay him a salary commensurate with that. When a 25 year old is on a salary that would now be poor for most Championship players, his valuation and the price other clubs are prepared to pay will reflect that.Personally, I'd like to see us nab Adam in the last few hours of deadline day. Holloway can talk all the shite he likes, but I reckon his Chairman -his boss- would bite at say £6.5 million. Leave the fucker scrambling about without his best player and with no time to get a replacement.
