Can he speak English? If not then having Pires here can only be a good thing for the immediate future

His musical tastes are a bit naff, apparently a big fan of Cliff Richard who he sees as an inspiriation.
I'd like to ask him
'Why Cliff Jean?'

Looks a great player. Evidently doesnt speak English. I wonder how many of our players speak French? Pires, Carew? Anymore? Worries me a little that. Still, give him time to bed in and I think we may have just got ourselves a bargain.

whever Houllier was talking about him it sounded like he was saying Jean deux Makoun. It's possible he's named after his old man like they do in the States. Just that they put the II or III or whatever after the entire name e.g golfer Davis Love III

just read this

, his move to a Villa side struggling in the Premier League represents something of a coup for the Midlands team, and should reflect well on Houllier’s ability to attract big name signings

Good work Villa, now carry on and get a few more in, there's plenty time left to spend, spend, spend.

Watching the interview on AVTV, the interpreter seems to be that Lorna Languages, the foreign players liaison officer.

Must be a shock for her, having something to do. She looks well chuffed.

What would be funny if we were to sign a Russian and Korean player and they roll her out there yet she's fluent in both languages. Good old Doug squeezing everything out of everyone again.

Perhaps the II is a reference to his speed and his nickname is Mach2.
