Initialisms? So the whole ''II'' thing in his name is what's holding things up?

cannot believe some of the comments on here, unbelievably defeatist!

There are many that i would not like to be in the trenches with, let alone supporting our boys on sunday with.

Stick in a relegation clause if that's what he's worried about (wonder if we've ever had to do that before?).

It seems mad how desperate we all are for him to sign.  Says more about where we are than the ability of the player imo.  Even so, hopefully we can get him in, even if it does involve a few clauses.

I'd hope that all of our contracts have relegation clauses in anyway. For both parties.

I'd expect he'll sign. We'll certainly be making it worth his while financially.

Having read the whole of that article in "Lyon Capitale", it appears that Lyon could really do with €8m in the bank but Claude Puel is worried that his system will be unbalanced if he sells him. Meanwhile, Houllier is said to have given J2M a deadline of this evening to make up his mind. However, J2 appears to think that it's too risky coming to a club which is languishing in the relegation zone. AND WHOSE FUCKING FAULT IS THAT?

give them Salifou then

I've no idea as to what sort of player he is, but this is starting to have the feeling of the JPA signing.  Please, Villa, sign someone. Anyone.  And if the aforementioned Columbian is anything to go by, we end up with someone who is never quite as good a player as we though we were getting.

It was like this when we were after Berson.  Crude translations of French websites and everything.

While it will be a disappointment if he doesn't sign I don't think it will bring about armed insurrection, perhaps just a touch of virtual sectarian violence.

Jesus, some of us do really like to wine on here. When GH flew out yesterday did we all expect him to bring Makoun back with him in his hand luggage.

None of us really know how deals are done,Lyon wanna squeeze out as much money as they can get,the player and his agent may want some more money from Lyon and or get as much as they can from us. And as its been said before,if we need to beg to get him and if he doesnt really wanna come, then fuck him,we want players who cant wait to get and play for the club.

We've still got enough to win on Sun,with or without him. UTV.

I would hope that there are two clauses like these in everyone's contracts:

"If we get relegated you can leave for £2m"

and

"If we get relegated, and you stay, then you have to take a 60% pay cut"

Does anyone know what such clauses actually look like?

^ exactly like that.

It's just sensible business acumen from both sides.
