Table Football - Live on Eurosport
« on: January 09, 2011, 03:54:46 PM »
Did anyone else see this last night ?

France v Germany in the "Table Football" World Cup, live on Eurosport.

We're talking the handle-spinning, Joey & Chandler type of table football not Subbuteo

Blimey, I thought that hyping up pub games like snooker, darts, poker and ten-pin bowling** into TV sports was bad enough, but this managed to plummet to new depths.

(** Not forgetting the all time classic of "Tippit on TV"............... in Welsh !!)

My 7 year old nephew had a table football table for Christmas.

He now refuses to play me after consecutive 100+ drubbings.

Quality post, any links for this as I would love to see it played by the pros?

I work on live betting products, and the range of sports we're being asked to integrate is getting dafter by the day.

Real time crown green bowls gambling coming your way very soon, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to be asked to integrate something like table football.

I'd clean forgot about "Indoor League" Dave.

However, they didn't have "live" coverage !!

I did beat my Grandad 100-30 back in the day on my footie table.

I would imagine the tables have to be quite robust when the pros are playing on it.

FOOSBALL!?!?!?!

I spent 4 years of my life (college) focusing on Foosball.

If stupid school hadn't occasionally gotten in the way, I would have been a PRO!!!

I actually just got a Tornado table for my bar in the basement.  It's nice and heavy.  I love it.

Sky was showing netball on last night, I know this isn't the netball thread but I wanted to mention it as it is very fast paced and those skirts are great!
