Right then. The club have backed the manager, like it or not, that isn't going to change now. We have to support them, because if we don't then we have no chance of staying up.

Good..at least they came out and said what the score was sooner rather than later, whether we agree with it or not.

Now get some friggin signings in, man up, play like we can and give Sheff Utd a good twatting on Saturday....

Why does this thread have 4 pages? The club has said he's safe so he's safe. Lets work out how we can get out of this mess with the existing management.

Today starts the mental preparation for life in the Championship.

Hopefully we get lucky, and a few of the sides around us plummet.

Failing that, maybe it won't be so bad.

New away days, new adventures and with a bit of luck we might get re-acquainted with that big pot that Dennis Mortimer last picked up in the old First Division.

Getting relegated is not an option.  Please tell me, Kevin, that this is tongue-in-cheek?  If the fans start getting this losing, defeatist attitude with the best part of half a season to play for then that's a large part of Aston Villa on the slide.  All of us have to step up, be positive and get the club winning again.  This is our one hundredth year of top flight football!  Relegation is NOT happening!  It's time for us all to draw a line in the sand, dig deep and scrap our way out of this.  We need seven wins: we can get them.

Kinda.

But with each passing day it seems to become a far more realistic prospect.

People are pointing to draws as our best results of the season FFS. The few wins we have managed under GH -against some pretty poor opposition- were by no means resounding victories either.

Randy has decided he stays so randy should now give him at least £20m to sign the players that may save our skin- no point keeping him unless there is huge transfer activity this month- we need a striker and fast and at least 3 other signings besides.

We may feel houllier should go but randy has said he stays so we just have to get on with it!
Gates are down , fans are divided and players are unhappy but randy has made his choice !

Quote
GH style of play

That would be pretty triangles in midfield going nowhere, before hoofing long balls for the 2nd half and Ashley in defence and Dunne up front for the last 10 minutes.

When MON went my initial reaction was that we would retreat into midtable wilderness for the next 5/10 years.

When Hou was appointed I was of the same opinion.

By November I predicted we'd be in the bottom 3 come the New Year.

Today I think it is a case of when we go down, not if.

I hope I'm wrong and the owner is right.

Let's see what 1 point out of 6 against SHA and Man. City will do to the board.

Randy Lerner knows nothing really about football, he took an age to appoint O'Niell's successor and only then with the help of a Management Consultancy.
He's wrong, and we're fucked.

Well we have to hope randy is right , no point sacking him after he signs players this month - had to sack him today or keep him till the end of the season .
