Well this is better. That Phil Mitchell looking twat concerns me though. He cant wait to send somebody off. There have been some clumsy and stupid tackles to be fair but he's showing cards for anything and has set his stall out. Well, if you're in a Villa shirt anyway.
Why wasnt Essien booked for giving the pen away by the way? It was one of the worst tackles in that half.

We're going to have to watch the tackles now and that will hinder us a bit.
Ancelotti will send them out looking for everyhing. They'll be going down like tupenny whores.

I think the Referee got both Penaltys right and our bookings spot on.  Petrov may have been slightly lucky to get away with Yellow.

Essien should have been booked though and probably Terry.

Overall performance was a lot better.  Chelsea have been pretty woeful in fairness, but we have kept the ball reasonably well and have been organised. (well apart from Collins ridiculous challenge to give away the penalty obviously).

Keep our discipline for the second half and provided Chelsea can't rediscover any of their better form, we have a chance.

HT on Sky. They showed the Collins Pen again. Ray Sideways was saying the challenge made the refs decision which he has a point for but Hairy and Tight Trousers pointed out that Malouda takes two steps after the challenge, then throws himself down as the ball gets away from him.

Yeah ive got to agree with those comments

From bbc.co.uk:

Quote
James Collins and Brad Friedel were both booked in the aftermath of that penalty decision - they felt Florent Malouda backed into Collins in the first place and TV replays appear to support their view

Quote
Replays show Malouda had reversing lights and a beeping sound he was backing in so much.

Quote
I'm feeling a little bit sorry for referee Lee Mason. Yes he got the Chelsea penalty wrong, but the players are kicking chunks out of each other

It definitely shouldn't have been a penalty.

That's one bloke's view.  I think they were both cast iron penalties.

Actually it's three blokes' views. Three blokes, all of whom are correct.

Exactly what happened. It was a woeful decision by a referee who looks too senile to me to be trusted to ref a premier league match

Villa's was cast iron. I'm still not sure about theirs but I'm erring on the side of "a bit harsh".

Give it a rest Dave.  We get it, you don't think it was a penalty.

I don't know Risso. It looked clumsy so I see why it was given. But Malouda played for it all the way as he had no chance of winning the ball. I think he conned the ref. I'd be happy if one of our lads had done the same.

I've a strange feeling that this game will be won by some kind of wonder goal.
