Lerner is still just about in credit with us.
But, with this appointment, that credit is rapidly running out.
To be in a relegation scrap so soon after the 'bright future' fanfare is just unbelieveable.
He must realise that he has made a mistake and be big enough to make the decision that GH must go now, while there is time to save the situation.
I don't buy into this 'Houlllier needs a transfer window' bollox. However much he is given will not be enough if we are already down amongst the dead men. GH has not shown IN ANY WAY  that he is able to improve the team, the club, the players or our situation. I have no confidence that if he signed Messi,Gerrard and Drogba that he could save us from being relegated.
Houllier must go after todays game, for the sake of the club, he has to go.

From BBC:  If this was a boxing match, Aston Villa would be Audley Harrison!

Glad he sent them out early at least they can be in no doubt of the disgrace of their performance.

Houllier's sent the team out with nearly five minutes of half-time left. Does he sound like the kind of manager who can say all that needs to be said in 10 minutes?

He probably had nothing to say to them, his words of wisdom mean sweet FA.

I first half hasn't been good, but the penalty wasn't clear-cut, the ball wasn't over the line; and Balotelli was off-side on the third. I don't see how the performance warrants the massively hysterical Houllier antipathy on this thread.
Yes, all dodgy goals and annoyingly none of which have been questioned by the fawning tossers on the ESPN stream that I'm watching, but the players are suffering from loss of confidence and it's the management's prime task to motivate them.

The players didn't even question the 2nd goal despite the fact that it wasn't even in? What does that say about their motivation? I really can't believe the state this club is now in, maybe we are starting to see how little americans know about our national game?

Nothing really works - simple run by Downing - to much on the ball running out...all the time
