James Collins, Villa captain.
« on: December 27, 2010, 10:01:41 PM »
What did people make of that decision last night?

He was the captain last night so with Dunney being banished seems to have been elevated into Houllier's mind as our number one centre half all of a sudden.

Not sure on that, I don't see him as a leader or organiser of the defence.

He's short on pace, gets turned easily and should've cut out that cross for the first goal.

Must admit I'd like to see Clark and Cuellar as our CB partnership in the near future.

I did wonder who was the captain with Dunn, NRC, Petrov & Young not starting.

Collins would seem the obvious choice

I think Collins sees playing for Villa as a previledge, if anything last night he tried too hard.

In the predicament we are in now we need a few more like him, it's certainly not the time to pick a young kid ahead of him.

Think Warnock's been captain at Blackburn but him on the way out so only other real option was Friedel.

Or Downing who has captained Boro and has been our best player, bit of a bender though...

I think Downing only captained Boro as he was a local.

Fcuk it, give it to Gabby then!

Luke Young would be my captain if he was fit.

What's the big deal, these days a captain tosses a coin and has a photo with the ref.

At least Ashley Young wasn't playing, he would have been captain.

Collins was a sensible choice.

I think it was the right choice to have Collins as captain.

It's not a big issue really, it was for one game, Petrov is our captain and havent we missed him, alot of us me included wanted him dropped before his injury.
But he can't come back soon enough.
