We can win this one if we pack the midfield and deny their creative players space, but I have this horrible worry of Luke Young against Gareth Bale. To play Bale your positioning has to be just right, and honestly Young's positioning at full back can be frighteningly poor - and then he dives in. If he does this then frankly we could fine ourselves two or three down before we know what's hit us, it's game over and we're staring at a thrashing.

Luke Young is injured. But if Eric Lee-High deputises again your worry about full-backs diving in on Bale and getting shafted could still hold true as the young Yank was prone to it a bit against West Brom.

Yep - if I was a betting man etc. this is what I'd go with.

I would think that the match will be on barring another load of snow, all car parks, stairs etc were clear its just that the pavements toward the Aston Tavern etc were not.

If ash is out I guess we play gabby and heskey? Not sure he would trust bannan to play a second striker role? Possibly better to play downing there with bannan left?in fact I think I quite like that. Worried what bale might do to lichaj

Don't they stop running after a certain time on Boxing Day though? That's one of the reason's why the 5.30 k/o pissed a lot of people off i think.

Didnt realise it had been so long... 'Arry hasn't lost a league game against us in four and a half years.

Last time we beat one of his sides was Pompey at VP when Alpay scored I think.

Under normal circumstances you'd have to go for the Tottingham win.

They've had our number in the last three games we've played them (even if they've only won one) and we haven't exactly improved since then.

We could have done with playing Wigan last weekend and possibly entering this one with two wins under our belts and a bit of pressure off. Lose this and -with the next few games we have coming up- we could well and truly in the shit.

Christmas always throws up a few surprise results though. As good as Tottenham are going forward they still look like they can be 'got at' at the back. Some pretty ordinary teams have rolled them this season.

Hopefully they don't even see us as that big a rival anymore and treat this one as just another fixture to fulfil, as per their performances v Bolton, West Ham and the Olbiyun.

4-1 Villa.

Would really like to see the Fonz get some game time alongside Emile.  I think his best position could well be playing off the main striker and we can all remember what Emile and Little Micky did for one another, can't we?
