We've our players back. Assou-Ekotto by his own admission doesn't give a fuck, he won't like the cold and Albrighton will tear him apart. Downing will have Hutton inside out and Ashley will have donkey Dawson spinning.

Not being clinical enough will cost us the three points, again. But we'll get something and a positive performance to accompany it.

Wonder how Lichaj will cope with Bale? I hope he can....

The difference will be someone like Defoe.

He can pounce on a rebound or a half chance and lash it away, we have no-one to do that.

Gabby will be too busy strolling to the back post and Heskey will be outside the box.

We seriously need a striker with the instinct to poach.

I understand that there is a lot of snow, I  also understand that at the moment the roads are awful and I finally understand that there is some more snow on the way.  However, why is this seemingly certain to be called off?.

The pitch will be fine, the stands will be fine, it's just a case of working together, like Man City did last night to clear the necessary walkways, pavements, entrances etc.   If that is done, then like most of the Heineken Cup Rugby matches at the weekend, this should go ahead surely?.

People can then make their own minds up as to whether or not they want to travel to the game or watch it on TV.

There's no public transport so the roads and car parks will be more over worked. There are 3000 who need to travel from London. They haven't had the same amount od snow in the nort west. It's played late so the pitch has more chance of freezing. Rugby isn't played with the ball on the ground so isn't a valid comparison. Who do you suggest gives up their Christmas to clear the surrounding area, are you willing to volunteer?

Chris, I didn't say it was going to be easy to get the game on, far from it.  But I personally don't think we should just give up.

This is England Dave, of course we should just give up.

The game can easily be played if the work is doen to clear the areas. Now Villa should know whether that is going to be done or not now so I would apprecaite them telling us now if the work isn;t going to be done and that the games is off as I cna make other arrangements for Boxing Day. What I don;t want is them calling it off on Boxing Day and coming out with the shit that the area is unsafe - theyw ill know that prior to the day.

Its a boxing day game at home shoved back to 5.30 for the Sky TV cameras for the third time on the trot so, I couldn't give a toss if its called off. It would be nice to see a home game on the 26th december kicking off in daylight, I hope every game Sky has shoved back over the festive period gets called off serve them right tossers.

wasn't it actually moved to the 27th last year?

The away v Arsenal was yes. Im actually refering to our homes games on Boxing day. If you look back our last 3 against Everton, Arsenal and now Spurs have all been moved back to early evening kick offs. No fun for those who want to use public transport, they have no way of getting back.

And while we at it, the last 2 times we played away on Boxing day our festive home games v Chelsea 2006 and last year v Liverpool were evening kick offs. Sky and ESPN hate us.

I have gone for P-P but if it goes ahead, 1-2 to the spuds... this game has come just too soon for us, we could have done with playing them in February when some of our new players are established ;)

It won't go ahead.

In the unlikely scenario that it does go on we will lose 2-0.

The referee is Martin Atkinson (West Yorkshire)

His other Villa game this season was our unfortunate thrashing away to Newcastle, while Spurs have beaten Liverpool and lost to West Ham with Atkinson in charge.

He has shown 7 reds in just 18 games so far this season.

Atkinson will be assisted by Paddy Keane (chequered flag) and Peter Kirkup (yellow flag), while Lee Mason is 4th official.
