Is'nt this more or less the same as the Rooney saga? Maybe Man City did'nt want to be outdone by their neighbours and wanted a few days in the media of their own.

Is it right that he's been given regular compassionate leave to visit his daughters in Argentina (where they live with his estranged wife) only to tip off to Tenerife with a "girl friend"?

I have absolutely no idea. Not knowing all the facts isn't going to stop me commenting on the issue, but if he tries to play the father of the year card and goes on about how much he misses his children not sure I'll take him seriously. But why should he care what people think? He's rich, he inhabits a world most of us have no comprehension about.
