I fail to understand why UEFA insist that there has to be two clear weeks at the venue before the Champion's League final is played.  Surely it can't take that long for them to set up their oversized advertising boards?

Maybe we should fully afford the respect the FA CUP Final now has by making it the 39th game and having it played on a Wednesday night in Manila

I'll be surprised if we get past Sheffield United. New manager + sort of horrible, dirty team that always do us = disaster.

Agreed. A little bit more of the soul of the FA Cup - and hence of football as a whole - is carved away...:-(

They fucked up the FA Cup a long time ago, this is just another example of how they have undermined the competition, the fun is still to be had in the earlier rounds when so called lesser teams have a go at the primadonas
Couldn't agree more.  For me this started when Man Utd didn't bother to defend it and went to some tin pot competition in Brazil instead of entering the FA Cup. Mind you, at least it meant we didn't draw them in the third round that season and actually got to the final!

It will take 2 weeks to put down new turf to replace the substandard surface for the FA cup final.

To correct the load of bollocks posted above for the nth time.  Man United to be fair to them were forced into it by the FA and the Government who were sucking up to FIFA at the time in our doomed attempt to shaft the Germans and get the 2006 World Cup.  I remember Ferguson absolutely fuming about it at the time.

Apologies for posting a load of bollocks - thanks for pointing that out for me.  My point was that the competition for me was devalued at that time for whatever reasons

Agree on the devaluation, for some reason it winds me up that everyone accuses Man Yoo when it was the FA.

Thats right. We played their replacement, the wild card entry but can't remember who it was
