Feck me...my heart was racing a bit when I read the thread title. Thought something might have happened to him. 51...still a lot to live for. Hope he reminds himself of that when he needs to.

With no game until tomorrow this has been the obvious weekend for organising the christmas tree - and so it came to be that a star was hung at the top of ours.................the wife thinks its a sign of gifts to come but without realising it i am chuffed to know i was marking the birthday of the most special player i have seen in claret and blue. the footage of past performances always makes the eyes go moist - just as the book did. a true legend

Is there any decent footage of Paul McGrath knocking about on the web? I've seen the Italy footage a million times, but I'd like to see some more of his time in claret and blue. I've had a look on youtube and I can't find anything. I was only a nipper when God was blessing us with his presence so I can't remember too many of his games.

Best Villa player of my lifetime,after reading his book though it's suprising he's still with us,really hope he can pull his life around once more.
