Interesting game. It's like playing against one of MON's sides. Very tough to break dowm, everybody for them behind the ball, prepared to give up possession and catch us on the break.

It will be interesting to see if the Rags can improve on the first half. An early Villa goal should put an end to any hopes they have.

I'm off to make a coffee and top it up with a serious quantity of brandy. It's going to be a difficult 45 minutes but if we continue to match them, our class will shine through.

Three things.

1. It wasn't over the line.

2. The nose was stood right next to Friedel, on the line. He might not have been directly in his line of sight, but the keeper will have been aware of his being there, therefore he is interfering with play.

3. When the ball first came into the box, Jerome was offside, too.

Don't make excuses Paulie, it's much, much funnier if we win AND the Blooozzzz were cheated out of a perfectly good goal.

Is Downing playing in the centre? Bannan right and Young left?

I always thought that ALL the ball had to be over ALL the line for it to be a goal.

That clearly wasn't the case, so what difference does it make if that dogshitter was interfering with play or not?

Aye.

I can't say for certain that it definitely wasn't, but the image they keep on using looks inconclusive. If anything, it shows part of the ball still level with the posts. If even part of the ball is level with the posts -and line- it's no goal.

Sky will run with this though, in an attempt to drum up controversy and more talking points.

Dunne must put away an amazing amount of calories, given that he surely trains most of the week and then plays football for a living.
