Corrupt bast$ds.  FIFA are a disgrace.  I'm losing faith in football.  I'm not the only one.

It looks as though they are committed to taking the WC to new countries, or markets, makes you wonder why we were encouraged to bid in the first place.

Nonetheless, I will blame SHA fans anyway.

FIFA are clearly a corrupt organisation and we never stood a chance of beating Russia or Spain as they are both countries with a rich tradition of bribery. Glad to also see that hotbed of football Qatar have been rewarded for their bribes footballing legacy i.e. the stadiums will be demolished after the tournament. I know that they are promising to send the bits of stadium to developing countries but what does it actually do for developing football?

Totally predictable and it's actually quite brazen of FIFA to display their venality in full view like this.

It isn't the fact that we lost, it;s the fact that we never had a chance to win.  Blatter and co milked the Beckham, William, Cameron kudos in the knowledge that it would look good for FIFA (spit) even though we were never going to get it.

Look in the bright side. Any bluenoses cause trouble in Russia, will have a new holiday home in  Siberia for next 25 years

It was probably in the bag months ago.

The Ruskies will have pulled out all the stops to make sure they got what they wanted.  Bungs, horses heads on Blatter's pillow, allsorts.

There probably are less fan friendly locations in the world, both from a logistics and hospitality point of view. But I'd struggle to think of any straight off the bat. None of that will matter to FIFA though.

Today was just pantomime.  Top acting from the Russian delegation to look all surprised  when it was announced too.

I've just looked up the venues that were part of the Russian bid. I don't think there's a single one east of the Ural's. What happened to a World Cup benefiting a whole country?

Probably didn't vote for us as they knew this country would make a balls up of it, let's face it, we've got form.

When 1966? 1996?
Form at fucking everything up.

Talking of 1996, I remember that cringe making opening ceremony.
Two blokes running round the pitch in a pantomine dragon outfit, with somebody dressed as St. George chasing around after him. Ghastly.

Losing to Russia was always on the cards.

But Qatar getting 2022 is really and utterly beyond the pale.    No fans, no history,  no football culture,  no cities, no grounds - just a small area of sand, not even a real country.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qatar

FIFA is a disgrace.

I really hope the press go town on them - gloves off.

Couldn't agree more.

On Qatar - do we really want our teams playing in 105F + temperatures?   WTF?

Or just maybe they were just totally ambivalent about them.

I'd quite like to see Terry, Cole et all suffering in those kinds of temperatures.
