general. i have followed avfc since i was 6, none of my family followed football at all so it was a choice i made all on my own, i have been to around 10 games a season for 21 years, i've seen yorke, collymore and angle score i've seen carboni score the best live goal i have seen live i've seen us win loose and draw but i have never been ashamed of my club, after this years rapid wien fiasco i vowed not to set foot in villa park again until the club repays my blind loyalty with a manager capable and players worthy of the shirt. last night again i was slapped in the face by a manager who some how managed to con randy with his positive spin,
i like many others who are staying away and not buying the new second hand kit need to see positive actions to bring us back home,
you surely have to admit Hou disgraced us last night now im going to put this in another context if Hou was a soldier and was that friendly with the enemy a cort marshall and diss-honorable discharge would be the order of the day. despite the injury crisis and what martin did we have gone from good to below average in months,
Fans are not a disturbance to your work they are the purpose of it. players like irland would do well to remember that.

Now as this is a question and answers thread here goes.
Does the bored have the backbone to put an end to all this now and sack Houlier?..  before we end up playing scunthorpe and doncaster next season,
the best manager for us is out there as a free agent get him in and ship ged out before its too late.

Thanks for reading

And yet again. The general has said on many occasions that he cannot, and will not, comment on playing matters. Do you really think a director of a football club will comment in public about the manager?

Dave, we deserve an explanation to this madness.  hardly any of us wanted him in the first place,  The fans pay their money, the fans pay the players and managers wages,  we deserve an explanation from them !!

Perhaps you can tell me how many directors at how many clubs have ever personally explained their every decision to supporters on the internet.

I keep saying it, and perhaps one day it might sink in. From the start the general has said he cannot comment on playing matters. That includes the manager. It's not a difficult concept to understand.

Bit selective there eh?

YOU didn't want him but I didn't particular recall a large majority either way and even then most in the doubtful camp were willing to give him a chance with some notable exceptions.

General, we were told of a 5yr plan where Villa would be challenging for CL places, etc. I understand things have changed, but we seem to have taken massive steps backwards and I would like to know what the current plan is. We appear to be a rudderless ship devoid of spirit, fight and above all the ability to play football. We've had the excuse of an incomplete squad however this excuse is seeing us in serious danger of a shockingly bad season. The players we do have available should be doing better than they are and at least playing with some pride. Again, I ask is there a plan and what is being done to change the apparent mood of resignation amongst the players?

General.  Please can you have a word with randy and get him to communicate more with the fans , we never hear from him and I think it would be good if just once a month or so he said a words in the programme or official website- doug was never out of the press and media and exposed himself too much, but randy is like lord Lucan.

This is his 5th year , what does he believe are the aims for the club now and what does he feel about progress made for his expenditure-? Are we much better off now than we were 5 years ago considering the money spent?

General,in view of Gerards past form of Liverpool references was Gerard not  briefed prior to the match that a Liverpool love-in would cause a problem with the fans.Maybe he had been but still couldn't stop himself. It's a shame because this ill feeling could have been avoided. The fans although not happy would have moved on from the poor performance but will find it harder to forget GH'S actions last night

Anyway let's hope a win on Saturday will go some way into remedying that

General, I have to say that I was appalled at last nights performance. It was shameful and embarrassing. I really feel sorry for those fans who made the trip on a very cold night only to be ignored by Mr Houiller. It's about time Mr Lerner woke up and made a statement to the fans!

General

I hope and expect that you and Randy will not be swayed by the reaction on this forum to Monday's performance.
Whether GH turns out to be right man for Villa only time will tell, and time is the one thing that any new manager has to be given. Particularly a manager who hasn't yet had chance to influence the side with his own signings, and particularly a manager who hasn't even had the luxury of a fit squad to choose from.
My main worry in all this is that the current run of injuries and results will lead to some panic buying in January.
Keep the faith, trust the kids we have, and only pay for quality.

It cost £41 to get in the ground last night. Each of our players would have earned more than that sitting on their arse at half time. If we have to pay such ridiculous wages, why not pay them to players who give a shit?

There's no Harry Redknapp out there waiting to walk in - and if there was there certainly isn't the money available that he's spent.
Constant change and upheaval is not the answer.
