Travelling to Anfield
« on: November 17, 2010, 06:10:36 PM »
Okay, I know that this game is some way away, but I've got a bit of a dilemna.

Bought a ticket including travel for the game away to Liverpool. Unfortunately today, my lecturer at university announced that we would be aving a class test on that Monday worth 10% of my final grade! Obviously, missing this isn't an option, but the test would finish about half an hour after the official coach leaves.

What this means is I'm going to have to make my own way to anfield, or get a refund. I'm not entirely sure how long I've got to get a refund on the ticket (or if I even can given that it's an away game) and I'm fairly sure I can't get one for the coach.

So; firstly, do you know if I'd still be able to get on the coach back if I hadn't got on it going to the match.

Second; roughly how long would it take me to get to Anfield from Birmingham new street by public transport. And could anyone tell me what station I'd be looking at getting off at and whether I'd then need to get a bus so I can get an idea of how much that would cost me?

I'm just trying to get a rough idea if I have the time to make the game still by making my own way there.

When Randy put on free coaches to Sunderland I made my own way there and got the coach back. I did have mates on the coach who explained the situation to the driver though.

I think you should be able to get a refund if you explain the situation to the ticket office.

You can get the 1701 from New St, arr Lime St 1844 (£11.50p single), or New Street 1736, arr Lime Street 1918 (£12.00 single).
The second one'd still be in time, if you got a taxi to the ground (£6 approx). If you got the first one, it's a 7/8 minute walk to the bus station, where the 17a, 17b, 17c or 26 bus goes past the ground (£1 approx).
