Great memories, thanks.

The Witton Lane Stand, the adverts, the old scoreboard with its letters, the Witton End terracing, the packed Holte End (of course), the (very small) metal fencing at both ends.

I had to smile seeing Tommy Doc. sitting on a bench on the halfway line, not exactly today's padded armchairs in the dugout at certain grounds!

Great reaction from Tommy Doc as the cameraman gets right in his face, watch him say "I'm trying to watch the match".
Note the late Brian Tiler sitting with The Doc on the wooden bench, the manager, coach and normally just one other would walk across the pitch to sit in front of the Witton Lane Stand to watch the game, unlike the huge entourage of today.
Villa wore sky blue shorts that day I seem to remember, they wore them quite a bit in that period.
Notice Dave Rudge throwing the ball into the crowd in his celebrations!
Great footage, wish there was some more from this period, my formative years supporting the Villa.
"We all agree.....(Lionel) Martin's better than Pele".
Great memories Chico.

Same old story, Willie Anderson kicked to the ground within seconds of the kick-off.
I think I was at this game, Trinity Road lower by the tunnel.

Having realuised what I just wrote, I had another look to see if I could spot meself.

It could be me & me brother next to the girl by the tunnel but I can't spot me dad who wouldn't have been far away.

IIRC we used to stand inline with the opening behind so I think we are about 5-10 yards to the left of the shot.

Happy days.
I can see myself in that clip as an 11 year old sitting in the Witton stand with my Mom and Dad.
Next round we all went down to the game at Southampton for the 2-2 draw before a fantastic replay win back at VP with 59,000 in the ground.
We went out to Spurs in Round 5 at White Hart Lane, I remember it was a night game as it got postponed on the saturday morning. We had just set out for London and we were driving past  the clock garage at Castle Brom when our Dad shouts to us kids in the back the games off. Devastated, as you would get excited for days and days before about cup trips away when you were kids.

Some editorial licence in that.....QPR score and we get a very loud cheer and a cut to over joyous fans waving Villa scarves.

Actually in those days we were all damned fine sporting chaps, cheering good football by our adversaries in equal measure with that of the claret and blue.
