I think things are going to get worse before they get better.

2-1 Fulham with us taking the lead.

Ireland needs to play, it's the only way his game is going to improve. I'd give him at least an hour.

Interesting choice about whether Clark or Sidwell plays in midfield alongside NRC. I still maintain that the front 4 is potentially pretty dangerous, but don't have enough goals in them.

Always confident we'll get a result at the Cottage

Last season was the first time we'd beaten Fulham at Craven Cottage since 1970 ( although we did beat them at Loftus Road)

Yeah I know but it never strikes me as that imtimidating an away ground for an away team espeically as we'll probably gobble up most of the neutral bit.

Same for Ewood Park which is our next away game.

Forgot Ireland, he'll be on the bench instead of one of Beye or Sidwell who I think are both doubts.

Is this a game where we should go and play for a point? Go for a 4-5-1?

Play for a pont? No, its still a winnable game IMO.

451? Yes, probably no other choice.

Although I like this I think its unlikely given Houllier's comments about Ireland. That's a very attacking team and I can't see that midfield bettering Fulhams.

Quite, we had 3 offensive players at home last week, and now with Albrighton available we might play 4 this week, but I think 5 is highly unlikely.

I like that team Dutch Villa, Fonz, Carew and Ireland from the bench if needed.  What we lose in height from Carew not playing, we would gain from having a big centre mid in Clark.  The 4 attacking boys will need to bring their shooting boots though, we must be more clinical.

I have just read some bad news for Villa fans in this Premier League football article.

Looks like Heskey will be out for about a month after picking up knee ligament damage in training.

It comes at the worst time for the striker because he has been showing some good form this season and has looked strong in front of goal.
