Not sure why but I can't get excited by this game at all. Maybe its all our injuries, maybe its the cold weather. Just another game to watch. Quite bored by it all at the moment. Anyway, back to off-topic.
To be honest, with 12 players being injured it'll just make them look like even bigger clowns than they already are if we beat them. If they beat us, so what... they've beaten an injury-ridden team forced to play kids yet they won't understand that and act like they've just won the World Cup.

There's much more pressure on them to win it - home advantage, no injuries, playing a team that isn't good on the road and got an endless injury list.
hahahaha.....your just getting your excuses in first......its not our fault you got a load of injuries is it....

Just imagine if you get beat by a load of kids though. Must be your worst nightmare.

But it's not excuses though, is it? It's cold hard facts. We've got 12 players injured, our away record this season isn't very good, you've got home advantage and no injuries - of course you're the favourites I think the fact that we've got so many injuries yet there is some doubt in Blosers minds that you'll still manage to bottle it and fall at the feet of your superior masters once again is very intresting.

If you lose I can bet you and your fans will be moaning and groaning about how you couldn't beat a 'Vile reserve' team and that you bottled it etc... If we lose we've got genuine reasons that might explain our loss like having 12 players injured and throwing in a couple of youngsters who have never played in a derby match let alone start a few Premier League game, so it won't be any skin off our noses (no pun intended) whereas if you lose you've got diddly squat. You're the favourites and you've got far more to lose than us. How confident would you be if you played Villa at Villa Park in a Quarter-Final with half your team missing plus squad players? Much much less confident than Villa fans are going into the game next week. Can you rely on any of your young talents coming out of your academy? No, I didn't think so.

I don't mind having sensible 'debates' with a bluenose, but lets keep it real yeah and not say immature things like ''you're making excuses etc..." even though many blosers aren't as confident as they're making out.

Same here. I'm much more interested in the Arsenal game at the weekend. Maybe it's because we played the Rags the other week or more likely because they're just a poxy little side that we by misfortune, have to share a city with.

We're going to achieve nothing in the league other than survival, we're not going to trouble the top 6 and maybe not even the top half, so this game is huge even though some people think they/we are too big to consider it so. Imo we'll be around the bottom 3 over christmas but if we've got a semi final to look forward to it will soften the blow, however if we're near the bottom 3 and we're out of the cup at the hands of small heath it will be very depressing. Fuck the league, i'd settle for a bottom half finish and a win over Small Heath and go on to win the cup.

Well every dog has it's day and all that. You must have been delighted to stop the rot of 6 consecutive defeats by the Villa. Christ that must have hurt you lot.

With a history as humiliating as yours I'm not surprised you choose not to look back.

Sheldon, serious question now not a dig, but why haven't you sold out? Massive game, night game atmosphere, cheapish tickets, and the way your fans have been going on about it like it's your biggest game for years yet there are still tickets left?!
(you may already have answered this but i can't be arsed to read 34 pages)

And why were there just less than 20k home fans at the Sty for the visit of the reigning champions on a Saturday 3pm kick off which wasn't televised?
