Urgh, I just cannot imagine losing to them in the QF's, it truly is a sick feeling - we wouldn't hear the end of it. Still, we're the better team with better players... play an attacking formation with our best players and we should beat them, lets not get lured into there boring and ultra defensive tactics they always play against us.

someone told me there is talk of moving this to 2pm in the afternoon.   at least we will get the afternoon off work

Where has this come from..is there any official word on this ?
If it were true, regardless of how precautionary it may be, what a total embarrassment for the city of Birmingham as a whole.

Someone told me that they're going to play it on the moon with a squadron of stealth fighters patrolling the upper reaches of the atmosphere in case any fans build their own space ships.

Somebody told me they were playing it at a ground where no blues fans attend.  It's called St Andrews.

from OS

he Second City derby Carling Cup clash between Villa and Birmingham City has been confirmed to take place on Wednesday December 1.

The quarter-final tie will take place at St Andrew's and will kick-off at 7.45pm.

It will also be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The last time Villa faced the Blues in the competition was in 1993-94 when Ron Atkinson's side won 2-0 over two legs in round two and went on to beat Manchester United 3-1 in the final.

Villa find themselves in the quarter-finals having seen off Blackburn and Burnley in the previous two rounds.

Emile Heskey and Ashley Young fired Gerard Houllier's men through against Rovers following a 3-1 win and it was powerful forward Heskey and winger Stewart Downing who did the damage last Wednesday night against the Clarets.

The opening derby clash of the season between the two sides finished 0-0 and this clash promises to be a similarily tight affair, with a place in the last four at stake.

Should make for an interesting afternoon in the city if the pubs remain open.

Wednesday at 7.45? Absolute dream for me, wouldn't have been able to make it if it was on a Tuesday.. Let's hope I can get a ticket.

£35 a ticket. Cheaper than it has been for the past few years.

From Blues site

Quote
Blues' fifth round Carling Cup tie against Aston Villa will take place at St. Andrew's on Wednesday 1 December with a 7.45pm kick off time.

The match has also been selected for live transmission by Sky Sports.

Both clubs have agreed on the following ticket prices for this fixture:-
Season ticket holders (Blues & Villa supporters): £25 adults / £12.50 concessions
Non-season ticket holders (before Matchday) : £30 adults / £15 concessions
Matchday prices: £35 adults / £20 concessions (both season & non season ticket holders)

The above prices are for all areas in the stadium, excluding VIP Hospitality.

Ticket selling arrangements will be confirmed on bcfc.com in due course.

Fair play to both clubs, although the cheaper price will no doubt attract even more chav idiots.

I don't think Gold or Sullivan would have agreed to those prices, so fair play to all concerned.
