My mate saw him in the pub around the time he could no longer get into the Villa team, and said to him "you must be pissed off". "Not really" replied Steve. "I'm still getting my £600 a week".

Those were the days.

Did a job in the (old) 2nd division, but by God he was bloody awful in our first season back in the 1st.
I remember him working where the Villa academy is now at the indoor cricket.
