For a while, they had the good sense to stand a short distance from each other - one selling mags, the other books. They couldn't bear to be apart for long though.

That sounds nice and romantic.

Curtis Mayfield and George Curtis. Unfortunately, after me being allowed to choose his name, his mother insisted on  the silly spelling.
