Decent read but the title of the piece is slightly cheeky.

Wow, was that really an interview - Young can't have said more than about twenty words.
I thought he was meant to be one of our more exuberant "full of beans" characters in Villa's squad?

Wise words, there. Wise words.

The same piece has done the rounds in pretty much every paper today. It's obviously not a 'bare my soul' one-to-one thing, probably he was sat in the hotel lobby with a bunch of reporters all pointing dictaphones at his face.

Unlike Ash who likes to be in hotel bedrooms and point his cock in peoples faces

Am I the only one who dosen't think Young is amazingly incredible in the free role?

Much rather see Ireland there tbh.

I can't see what your basing that on. Ireland has done very little for us so far following on from the very little he did for Man City last season. He's clearly a talented player but it would be madness to sacrifice Young, who has started the season very well, to try to accomodate him.

No, I agree with you.

he does do well for us there, but no better than when he's wide.  So we could get Ireland into the team in that position without losing anything from Ash, so I think we should do it.

I think the Blackburn game demonstrated the opposite of what you suggest.

Well we haven't seen Ireland in that position once since being at Villa.

Young's best position is on the wing. Ireland is much better in an attacking midfield role. In my opinion of course.

Yes, it may have suggested it, but we're talking about 1 game against a weakened Blackburn side and we need to look at the bigger picture.  I'm not saying he should never play there again, just that we shoudn't be married to him behind the striker to the detriment of all other options and formations.

The best thing about that is the options it gives.  It would be either Albrighton or Downing on the bench, so they could be brought on for any of the attacking three behind the striker.  And we'd also presumably have Heskey and Gabby on the bench, so again great and varied options, including switching to 4-4-2.
