The difference between HDE and Hicks&Gillett is that we criticised Doug for being to prudent, for not taking risks -- whereas Hicks&Gillett are criticised for not having any money and making promises they couldn't keep. Apparently, one of the factors behind the Barry saga was that Benitez were told that he would have money to meet our asking price, but then it turned out that wasn't the case.
