Gabby isn't it, he's a mid-table Premiership striker at best, Carew is finished, Delfouoneso will never be good enough and Heskey will eventually become...well...Heskey!
I honestly think we'll be o.k upfront once Gabby gets better and Ireland starts playing just off him.Don't laugh but I honestly believe Ireland can be as effective for us as VDV is currently for Spurs when he starts getting played off the main striker.
One thing I didn't get yesterday was why, having bigged him up several times last week ("he's like Jamie Carragher") GH dropped Carlos yesterday.

He says he meets with his staff every day to discuss issues, so that would have come up I'm sure. It's not like MON where every team was the same. We have to get used to different selections from now on, rotations, certain players in certain situations etc. It may not always make sense, and it might not always come off. Hopefully over the course of time it will pay off more often than not.

I understand that that might be what has happened, but I'd have thought the fact that Dunne is currently the only human being visible from space might be warning enough. And then there's the fact that Cuellar did so excellently last weekend.

QuoteGabby isn't it, he's a mid-table Premiership striker at bestThat makes absolutely no sense. He's been a mainstay of a side that has finished 6th 3 seasons in a row and yet he's a mid table striker?

Perhaps, but I don't think it would have made much difference.
