Well, bearing in mind how long the stadiums been there I could question if they didn't spot the 40,000+ all seater when they bought the house?

I just find it odd that with all the police around on match day, this flagrant breaking of the law is allowed to continue.

Lots of laws are broken every matchday, mostly by supporters. At the risk of starting up an old argument a lot of inconvenience is caused to residents so the odd bit of parking spot reserving isn't all that surprising.

I could do with doing a deal with someone who's drive is near to VP.

An ST at £4 a game for use of the drive would be fantastic.

Re. another VP tradition - they never do 'mind your car' do they !!

You'd be stuck on there for at least half an hour after the match.

Re. another VP tradition - they never do 'mind your car' do they !!

I used to tell them kids they could mind my car but see me after the game,  we always drove off fast without paying them. I justified this on the basis that the kid would finish up as another internationally famous mutli millionaire heavy rock musician who would blow most of his brain cells apart on alcohol and drugs.

For anyone who's bothered, Villa are in constant liason with the police about this as they are very aware of the problem.

The police can 'manage the traffic' but not entirely on the club's say so - and the police have been re-organised recently and set priorities due to lower resources.

Thus, Aston Hall Road after a Villa game is not a priority.

In summary , the problem is that the police are under resourced and the flow of traffic away from the ground after matches is not a high priority for them.

Lee was frusrated but had his hands tied and the club's hands are tied.

This is more or less what the General said about this when I have quizzed him previously on this matter.

What I don't understand is that the club pay the police for matchday policing, and the police can't be arsed.

If it's all about (mis-)allocation of resources, then I personally blame the Pope and his visit to Birmingham...(wink)

Maybe, but it's just a bit of a pet peev of mine.

The other side to it is that when you but/rent a house around the ground, I'm sure the price reflects being next to a football stadium and the inconvenience that will cause.  So they're getting cheaper rent/mortgage because of it, yet still refuse to let people park outside their houses, which they have a right to do.

I very much doubt that anything will ever happen about it, but it's nice to have a moan!

Why don't West Midlands Police use some of their hundreds of
Community Support Officers on match days to direct traffic ?

Oh yes-  they don't have the power to stop a moving vehicle

Surely Villa have as many if not more 'official carparks' as other
clubs which should make it easier for supporters and local residents

ive not read all of this thread because all people do on this site is moan
what do u realistically expect if 30,000 to 42,000 people all attend the same event and all leave at the same time? do u not think that u might get caught in a little bit of traffic?

How do you know that people don't think that if you haven't read the thread?

I'll fill you in. Nobody is suggesting that there won't be a bit of traffic after a match with 30 odd thousand people present, far from it.

They are suggesting that one thing has been changed recently which has made the situation considerably worse.

It makes sense for a club which regularly has 7,000 empty seats to be made aware of any factor which may or may not be contributing to that problem.

why would i need to read every post when the majority of them are all moaning that theres too much traffic
poor u having to sit in a bit of traffic after a game
i dont come on here a lot because all i see on every discussion is moaning
i also think its pretty sad that you have to sit in traffic for 30 mins or whatever after a game and soon as u come home
o yes i must go on the net and mention the state of the traffic outside a premier league ground today and how long it took me to get home
some of u probabily need to get out more often
ill be deleting my account cause bored of u all moaning and nit picking at tin little things
