Weimann  taken off injured after 16 minutes for Watford against Leicester. Not sure about any details of the injury.

Christ's chin, Kanu is still at Pompey?
Yes.

Houllier actually wanted to sign him in January.  But being a cup final scorer and proud owner of one of the most funniest names in football, he's way way more expensive than Bent.

We're lucky we can't afford him.

The disapponting performances of our youngsters on loan should give us a reality-check.  They're not (yet) good enough for a team aspiring for a Top 6 position or higher.

Mental how Bannan is being left on the bench at Leeds given a) they've drastically lost form and b) he set both goals up the last time he played for them.

Our best three youngsters for the first team are still at the club and all three of them can think themselves unfortunate not to have played more in the second half of the season. Bannan seems to be unlucky not to be getting a game for Leeds and many of the others pretty much everyone has concluded wouldn't really be getting that close to the first team.

regarding delfouneso, i dont think the loan has done him any favours, although playing out of position on the wing may help his overall game in the centre, but on the whole, chatting to burnley fans whose opinions i trust, they think he has bas of ability, but they dont think he is a winger (neither do i), and they dont think he is suited to long ball tactics (neither do i)...

Fonz has never really had a chance down the villa and it's hard to see now how he will get a run of say 7 or 8 straight games to prove he's up to the task.
Difficult one

Bannan IMO will be getting good experience just being in a physical league for a few weeks.
------------------------------------------------------

bannan had all of last season in the fizzy pop at Derby & Blackpool. That was the righjt mood to get him used to the physical side and playing in front of a crowd etc etc.

However bannan's and the fonz's loans this season are complete and utter bollocks

Bannan on the bench most of the time and the Fonz ghas just scored the one goal I think. Even if they had blinders in the fizzy pop it only proves they can do it in the fizzy pop.

They need to be used more in the first team squad or sold, as simple as that

I said at the time that there was no point in Bannan going to Leeds if he wasn't going to get regular starts.

On-loan Aston Villa striker Andreas Weimann expected to miss the rest of Watford's season

12:29pm Tuesday 26th April 2011

Austria Under-21 international Andreas Weimann is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a metatarsal injury in Watford’s 4-2 defeat to Leicester City.

On-loan Aston Villa striker Weimann went off after just 16 minutes yesterday and becomes the sixth Hornet currently sidelined through injury, which leaves Watford “down to bare bones” according to manager Malky Mackay.

Mackay said: “Andi rolled his foot and it looks like there is a problem with the metatarsal area on the outside of the foot.

"There is nothing we can really say on it until we get it scanned but it certainly looks like there is an area there that will keep him out for the next two weeks.

“It is obviously disappointing, especially off the back of the injuries to Ross Jenkins and Matty Whichelow in the last two weeks.

“To lose another one means we are absolutely down to bare bones and will need to fill our bench with youngsters and under-18s.”

Frustrating season for Weimann bookended by the injury he suffered against his home team in Vienna, and the subsequent disgraceful behaviour of some of their supporters towards him and now this injury. Chin-up Andy.

Fonz is 19. He needs more time than that before we take a view. I have strong doubts, but his scoring record for Villa at least is pretty outstanding.

I think we have lots of players who are used to playing in dominant sides, against mediocre opposition, in the reserves. Bannan, Fonz and Clark all show signs of being knocked off the ball too easily. They're not really learning how to cope with that on the bench though.

I'm still of the opinion Delfouneso will be a success.
