Preston North End and Huddersfield
« on: September 12, 2010, 11:13:33 PM »
Are Preston and Huddersfield the last of the 'greats' yet to join the premiership party?

Considering the fears about it becoming a closed shop who could have seen Hull, Wigan, Swindon and Blackpool taking part?

Forty+ clubs have played premiership football and apart from a Bristol representative I'd love to see Preston and Huddersfield back at the top. Anyone been to Deepdale?

My mum's from Preston and my dad's from Huddersfield, so I'd love to see both of them in the Premier League.

I can remember reading once, possibly in H&V someone saying that Preston were sort of the long lost brothers of Aston Villa. Founding members of the league, very dominant in the early years, but after that kind of faded out. Obviously we had 81 and 82 and have had a lot more time in the top flight, but I can see where they were coming from.

Always preferred Preston to Huddersfield though. Both as a team and a place. Although both have reason to be in the very amusing Crap Towns thread currently going on in Off Topic.

I think Blackpool can be mentioned in the same breath as Preston so deserve their shot.  Barnsley however !
