£35 million + apparently, rising to £40 million...

£40 million for a guy on the back of five good months in the top flight.

Mental.

That was 16/1 about an hour ago with Sky bet it's now 1/2

Young to Liverpool was 1/2 yesterday, for what it's worth.

These fees are mental and goes to show the folly of buying too many domestic players.
Luckily, Houllier has overseas contacts so we won't have to pay through the nose for anybody we want in the Summer.

It'll be Kevin Davies to Sunderland next for £20m.

Always thought he was vastly over rated and for £35m + you'd want a striker who has a complete all round game.

I'd be gutted to lose Torres and get Carrol in return.

They have just shown that Torres has scored 7 times in 7 games against Chelsea and that he scores against them more then any other team. Seems an expensive way to guarantee a win next week. It's almost like us buying Hadji to stop him scoring against us.

I think it's why we bought Boateng.

Bugger it, but maybe he will come back and pull his socks up a bit now... I won't hold my breath though.

That actually makes more sense. At least Davies has been consistent for Bolton for a good number of years. Carroll's just shown up. Hey, but King Kenny knows what he's doing.
