Surely while managers in certain clubs have simultanously took some sort of delusional drugs, we can sneak a "reliable source" mentioning Warnock on SSN and say is in a helicopter on an unknown destination ?? this would then create a frenzy and somone might put a 15m bid in for him ..........

One of the Birmingham-born Liverpool 'fans' in my office has just tried to convince me its a good deal, based on the fact that he'll do well for Liverpool. Well may be, but I can't help thinking they could have finished the rest of this season using Suarez, mentally write off this season, and begin long-term planning starting with the summer, when they will have £50m+ to spend at a time when quality players are cheaper and available. To spiff it all in the space of one or two hours on a mediocre talent like Carroll (who surely would still be available in the summer, presumably at a more realistic price) is sheer desperation and lunacy. It doesn't make any sense - footballing, commercial, economical, whatever - it just makes no sense to me.

And I'm fucking delighted. I honestly think we can finish higher than Liverpool this season now.

They will be fine, they have Shola Ameobi and Leon Best..........

35 million is pure nuts. He might turn out to be a top striker, but he might turn out to be the next Michael Ricketts or Marcus Stewart.
Even Carlton Cole was more impressive a couple of seasons ago.
As said above they could get Benzema for that, could have go Adebayor too.
Also, he hasnt been a stranger to controversy in his short career, a lot of money to be gambling on someone like that!
